India Monsooned Malabar coffee has an incredible history, just like its unique flavor. Known for having a sweetly fermented fruit with a deliciously intriguing musty undertone that is smooth, not bitter, Europeans used to go crazy for these swollen and yellowed beans during the 1600s. If you want your coffee to have low acidity, and a light body with a mellow and soft tang, the India Malabar beans would be perfect for your palate!

When ships used to sail from India to Europe, the Indian beans would be sitting in wet, damp climates underneath the ships for up to months at a time. Although the beans were not arriving in the same condition as when they were shipped, the Europeans still indulged in the Indian coffee beans – appreciating the strong aroma, but soft tones. Today, these beans are still some of the most sought after coffee beans from India.

However, since coffee is not transported like it used to be, the process is recreated. These India Monsooned Malabar coffee beans go through a 16-week process ensuring that these beans resemble the beans from the 1600s. Picked during monsoon season in India, these coffee beans battle the rain and spend up to two months dying. If you like mild and fruity undertones and a soft age to your coffee beans, these India Malabar coffee beans are just what you need to start your morning with!

This is one of the best coffees on the planet. I would put it up against Jamaican Blue Mountain it is exactly in the middle of the flavor range.it has a full body, without being too acidic. You get rich, rich coffee flavor, without bitterness. It is the best aspectsof coffee. I . If you tend toward the Kona types, then this will appeal. If you prefer the harsher, drier climate coffees, such as Ethiopian, then look elsewhere. Malabar is mellow. It is a beautiful coffee. Buy five pounds and don’t look back.
Pros
  • Mellow but full-body
Cons
  • Will need to brew a little longer if you are looking for higher acidity. Why would you like that, though?
