Papua New Guinea Coffee

Papua New Guinea Coffee (1lb Bag)
1 lbGrind Qty: $14.50
Papua New Guinea coffee beans are some of the sweetest, most beloved beans known for their slight resemblance to coffee connoisseur's favorite beans, Jamaican Blue Mountain. However, this delicious coffee may taste slightly like Jamaican Blue Mountain, but the Paupa New Guinea coffee beans have its own following thanks to its uniquely sweet tang, mild-medium body, and soft fruity undertones.

Grown in the mountains of Papua New Guinea, these coffee beans get their fruit infusion from the Albizzia berries that are on the same land as these New Guinean trees. Before coffee production took place in Paupa New Guinea, the Albizzia berries were used for spiritual and medicinal reasons. Luckily today, the berries are used to harvest some of the sweetest fruit flavors around.

Not only does this coffee taste exceptional, but the plantation holds itself to exceptional standards. Beans are hand-sorted by selected farmers, who benefit from working at the plantation just as much as the coffee drinker themselves. The Papua New Guinea coffee plantation gives free health care and education to all of its workers. This shows the quality of the plantation life which rubs off into New Guinea's favorite coffee beans!

For those that like their coffee to have a sweet side (in taste and in its employees rights), Papua New Guinea is the top of the line!

This truly a sweet coffee, does come close to Jamaica Blue Mountain. The coffee has the sweet then tang and fruity taste. Mild no after taste. This is going to be my mid afternoon chill out cup. I am enjoying a cup at this time.

Best Coffee on the Planet
January 10, 2019
I was introduced to this coffee by a local roaster 10 years ago. When the local person retired and shut down his operation I was heartbroken. I never found another coffee that came close. Then I found these guys. Fair price terrific service. Even with shipping its cost competitive because they actually provide 16 ozs of coffee. All the commercial producers are just packing 10 or 12 oz. Bags for sale in the stores in this area.. So I'm getting a phenomenal custom coffee and the actual premium is less then 10% including shipping. The only problem is its so good I am drinking more coffee again after cutting back out of indifference to the taste.
Cons
  • The only comment I would make isn't really.a con. When I could buy it from the local roaster I always got it the day it came out of the roaster. I was shocked that it made a difference in the taste. I would love to be able to time my purchases of this incredible coffee with their roasting schedule to get it at the peak of flavor.

My New Favorite Coffee
May 11, 2018
This coffee from Papua New Guinea is by far my new favorite coffee. I was a huge fan of darker roasts, but this coffee has changed my mind. I tend to pour through and this creates a delicious and satisfying cup of coffee time after time without fail.

A smooth morning wake up with classic well rounded hints of toasted cereal grain and light fruity notes with a pleasant lingering finish. I have been drinking this varietal for about ten years now and it is better than ever. I recently switched to a pour over brew with this coffee. The taste is even smoother now and the lower acidity make this a daily go to coffee.
Pros
  • Smooth and sweet. A great fit with pour over brewing.
Cons
  • None.

Papua New Guinea Changes
September 10, 2015
I've been ordering Papua New Guinea for several years, and it has been one of the sweetest, most fragrant coffees during that time. But in the last few months, the fragrance and taste have been "off." It's no longer sweet smelling nor sweet tasting. It's a little dark and "fishy". I'll wait a few months and try again. But for now, I'll move on to some of the other coffees.
